Recently, Microsoft Windows 10 was accused of automatically turning on the user's keystroke recording feature without notice.
Since its debut a few months ago, Microsoft has been wary of the tech world because of a scandal of spying on users and forcing users to upgrade the operating system. The climax was that a hacker found evidence that Microsoft repeatedly took screenshots of customers' computers and secretly sent them to the company's servers.
The incident quickly went into oblivion as Microsoft said that the problem only happened to those who agreed to participate in the Technical Preview and all was recorded in the terms at the time of installation.
But recently, Windows 10 once again fell into Scandal when someone discovered that, inside Windows 10, there is a built-in tool to record each user's keyboard character to help the virtual assistant Cortana return. should be smarter.
It is worth mentioning that the recording of the user's keystrokes on Windows 10 is not published or mentioned, but is located in a very difficult to see the place. Considering a negative aspect, this issue is no different than every Windows 10 computer that has 1 pre-installed Keylogger software.
Sadly, this feature is enabled by default on all Windows 10 versions including the Big Update released last month.
Before information about this "feature" of Windows 10, Mr. Duong, a senior administrator at a large technology company in Vietnam, said:
“While we all know, Microsoft's aforementioned collection of information is for the sake of making Windows 10 better, and it's really almost unlikely that these data packets from Microsoft were leaked out. But as administrators, we will still turn off this feature in case of uncertainty ".
If you also do not believe in Microsoft and this feature of Windows 10, you can turn off this feature by following the steps below:
- Click the Notification button on the watch tray> select All Settings> Select Privacy
- In the Privacy section, select General and toggle off in the section "Send Microsoft info about how I write to help us improve typing and writing in the future".
