Shortcuts help users use the computer more efficiently by combining keys together to call a certain feature, instead of having to find and select manually. Keyboard shortcuts prove extremely useful in feature-heavy applications, like Microsoft Office Word.


Below is a list of 63 most common keyboard shortcuts for Windows management, as well as word processing, web surfing.

General shortcuts:

1. Ctrl + C: Copy

2. Ctrl + X: Cut

3. Ctrl + V: Paste

4. Ctrl + Z: Go back to the previous time (Undo)

5. Shift + Delete: Straight delete files/folders without keeping in the recycle bin.

6. Ctrl + one key move (left / right / up / down): Select multiple discrete files / folders.

7. Ctrl + Shift + one key move (left / right / up / down): Select multiple files / folders continuously.

8. Ctrl + Shift + use a mouse to drag away: Create a shortcut for the selected file/folder.

9. Ctrl + scroll right key: Move the mouse to the end of the word behind it.

10. Ctrl + scroll left key: Take the mouse over the first character of the word before it.

11. Ctrl + scroll key down: Take the mouse to the beginning of the next paragraph.

12. Ctrl + scroll key up Take the mouse pointer to the beginning of the previous paragraph.

13. Ctrl + A: Select all

14. F3: Open the feature to find files/folders in My Computer.

15. Alt + Enter: Open the Properties window of the currently selected file/folder.

16. Alt + F4: Close a program.

17. Ctrl + F4: Closes the current number of the program being executed.

18. Alt + Tab: Switch between running programs

19. Alt + Esc: Select to order another active window to work with.

20. F4: Open the address list in the Addresses of My Computer.

21. Ctrl + Esc: Open the Start Menu, replace the Windows key.
